About

Anaesthesia is the official journal of the Association of Anaesthetists. It is international in scope and comprehensive in coverage. It publishes original, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of general and regional anaesthesia, intensive care and pain therapy, including research on equipment. Anaesthesia is primarily a clinical journal, and aims to always be relevant to the clinical practice of its readers: consultant and trainee practitioners involved in all branches of anaesthesia, intensive care medicine (including specialists from other disciplines) and pain therapy, and also non-medical staff working in those areas. Authors are encouraged to publish by the quick turnaround time – the median time from submission to first decision is 12 days, and by the close and friendly editorial support provided during manuscript processing (see full Editorial Board here). The journal has a wide international readership with over 1.5 million full text downloads a year and a vibrant and popular social media presence. It also has a dedicated journal for authors and readers of case reports and clinical multimedia (Anaesthesia Reports).
